RM 2500

"TANKER 1" Series 2,500 gallon elliptical fire tanker, including a Sterling Model 9500 heavy duty chassis, large hose drylay, and a 2,500 gallon stainless steel water tank.

This tanker gets the water to the fire! The Sterling chassis includes a 400 HP C-12 Caterpillar diesel engine, and a Fuller 9-speed manual transmission. This is an ideal size for a rural fire department tanker. The 8" side dumps can be used for drive-by dumping operations, and the 10" rear dump valve allows for dumping at back-up sites. The 20" hose drylay carries hose for use by fill site pumps.

This "TANKER 1" Series fire tanker sees major usage in north central Pennsylvania, and responds to fires throughout a 20 mile radius of the fire station. It is one of the largest tankers in McKean County, and it has the most power of any tanker in the area! The 2,500 gallon stainless steel water tank can be filled with dual 2-1/2" rear tank fills in two minutes, and the 10 Newton rear dump valve can empty this impressive truck in less than 90 seconds!
