Big tankers need big horsepower. This Peterbilt includes a 430 HP Series 60 Detroit Diesel engine, and an Allison HT-740 heavy-duty automatic transmission. Getting water to the fire is no problem! The Code 3 warning light system insures safety during tanker shuttle operations.

This "TANKER 1" Series fire tanker is the largest unit in a "Tanker Task Force" which includes eleven fire departments. The 3,500-gallon stainless steel water tank can be filled with 4" large diameter hose in four minutes. The 10 Newton rear dump valve can empty this impressive truck in less than two minutes!

Other equipment includes a left side compartment for fittings and adapters, and a large curb-side compartment for storage of a 600 GPM Honda portable pump. Warning equipment includes a Code 3 NFPA warning light system with XL light bar, halogen flashers on all four sides, dual halogen rear rotators, a 100-watt electronic siren, 4" gold custom NFPA striping, and gold custom reflective lettering.
