LUDLOW VFD

Ludlow Volunteer Fire
Department purchased this "Tanker 1" Series built on an International
7600 Series chassis. As all "Tanker 1" Series trucks
start out this cab and bare frame rails were pulled into FIRE-FLY
Fire Equipment's fabrication shop. First order of business was to drop the drive
shafts, carrier bearing, and mount a massive W.S. Darley 1500 GPM pump to
the frame rails behind the cab. Next came the installation of a steel framed,
stainless aluminum covered pump house built from 2" x 2" x 1/4"
steel angle. A quality truck has to have the quality components to uphold its
longevity. All trucks such as this have a double railed frame for extra support
under the weight of the tank and body. Added to this truck for a bit of extra
traction and flash were fully welded aluminum diamond plate step and battery box
cover.

Attack
Tanker 263, a first-out truck at the station, is more than sufficient to to
handle any kind of fire it may encounter in the line of service. If not being
able to stand alone, it is more than enough to put a good knock down attack on
some of the most vicious fires. Hauling 1800 gallons of water on heavy
duty axles it serves as it's own supply truck as well as a pumper.
Ready to run as soon as their men can respond to the station this "Tanker
1" features a Kussmaul 1200 Auto-Pump Plus, which means that
the air and the batteries are fully loaded upon entry of the cab. With a Code
3 warning package and (2) 18" 130db Grover Air Horns, this truck
has no trouble clearing the streets in route to a call. Helping this truck be
seen is 4" NFPA Compliant White Scotchlite striping with
"Z" pattern design on the rear of the body to match Ludlow's other
apparatus.
